Hi, I'm Sam

As a quick introduction, I was formally trained as an accountant and self trained as a blockchain subject matter expert.

Currently I am working on:

  • Assisting start-ups with their product, finance, and operations needs
  • Promoting blockchain technology and use of digital assets
  • Getting to know myself

What you find below are the highlights from my intellectual journey. Each section focuses on the concepts and material that had the largest impact on me. No one section includes everything I would like to share but provides.

Warning, ideas suffer from the three body problem, the interaction between more than two ideas is unpredictable. The result may be unexpected.

πŸ—½ Politics (The topics that matter)

Note: This section is under construction and will be fully built over time.

First and foremost I believe in the rights of the individual. Every human within the boarders of the United States has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. (I would extend this to the world but I also believe in localism and for some people, the responsibility to make decisions for themselves is unwanted). No other individual has the right to impede this and only when your actions prevent this pursuit from a fellow citizen does any organization have the right to deny you yours.

With that in mind, we as people hand over these rights to institutions in order to gain the advantage of the collective. Political decisions cannot be made based on the ideas of a party but rather based on philosophy. If you really dive into the issues of today, in almost every case the core disagreement between two sides revolves around the concept of the collective vs. the individual.

Way to often today, the definition of certain words gets twisted to fit a narrative. Before discussing politics with anyone, I like to come to terms. Outlined below are my definitions for the most commonly miss understood terms. If we ever talk politics please either agree with these definitions or present your own.
